You can join the Imperial Order by visiting our website at http://www.imperialorder.org/, and by clicking on the Membership Application link, it will take you to the application form, where you should read the instructions on applying for membership.
To apply for the Imperial Order, you must own and play either the Lucasarts Inc. games TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance, Galactic Battleground, Jedi Knight or Jedi Knight II (Jedi Outcast). Of course a love for the Empire and hatred for the Rebellion is needed!
All members are expected to participate in all Imperial Order events and goings-on. This includes our weekly meetings, Imperial Order Battles, missions and MoU's, squadron activities, and other related events that require a commitment from the member. Please also read the Squadron / Platoon FAQ.
To become a member of the Dark Jedi Order you need to be a member of the Imperial Order. Our Masters will watch your career and invite you to the Dark Jedi Order when it is time. The Dark Jedi Order is invite only, and only the best officers are chosen for entrance into the Dark Jedi Order.
To become a member of Imperial Intelligence, you must be an Imperial Order member with at least the rank of Colonel, and the level of Fifth Circle Initiate in the Dark Jedi Order. Imperial Intelligence is invite only.
When an Applicant sends in a pilot file in which the minimum Entrance Requirements have not yet been met, the Training Officer will notify the Applicant who will then be assigned the rank of Flight Cadet or Cadet on the Roster but will be given only a "temporary" Position on the PLT Tigris until such time that the Flight Cadet completes his/her Training. Training Squadrons, stationed on the PLT Tigris are comprised solely of Flight Cadets and their Instructors. Trainees are expected to attend IRC meetings and complete the training missions.
The Flight/Squad Member is a trained officer whose primary duty is to stay active and informed by familiarising themselves with the IO, playing missions or battles and submitting to the Treatise Imperialis, the IO's monthly compendium. FM/SM submissions regarding new fiction, artwork, mission or battle ideas/creation are highly encouraged.
The Flight/Squad Leader is the commanding officer a Flight/Squad Member should contact with problems, questions or comments.The Flight/Squad Leader serves an important role in maintaining communication and order within a particular Flight/Squad Group in a Squadron/Platoon. The FL is the leader of three other Flight Members. He maintains contact with his Flight Members and makes recommendations to the Squadron Commander regarding individual Flight Member performance. In addition, the FL is the first person a Flight Member should go with a request or question.
The SXO/PXO is the assistant to the Squadron/Platoon Commander. He/She attends to duties that the CMDR/PCMDR may be too busy to take care of. He or she encourages participation among Squadron/Platoon members and does other little task's that may be assigned to him by the CMDR/PCMDR such as writing up squadron reports.
A Squadron/Platoon Commander commands a squadron of twelve pilots/commandos. It is his or her duty to see that all pilots/commandos are active and productive in Imperial Order activities. The CMDR/PCMDR manages the day to day operations of an Squadron/Platoon; this includes maintaining continuous contact with Flight/Squad Members, Flight/Squad Leaders and making all sorts of internal decisions on Squadron/Platoon positions, Ranks and Medal Awards. The CMDRs/PCMDRs also must review battle and mission performance files sent in from Squadron/Platoon Members and make recommendations to their Wing/Regiment Commander for Medal awards and/or Rank/Position promotions. It should be noted that the Fleet Commander allows CMDRs a great deal of latitude in customising a Squadron/Platoon to its own particular talents. However,assigned fighters, Squadron/Platoon Names and Squadron/Platoon Objectives may not be altered . Squadron/Platoon Commanders may select the Banners and Mottoes of their Squadrons/Platoon by reporting directly to the Fleet Commander and Flight Officer, respectively.
The WXO/RXO is the assistant to the Wing/Regiment Commander. He/She attends to duties that the WC/RC may be too busy to take care of. He or she encourages participation among Wing /Regiment members and does other little task's that may be assigned to him by the WC/RC such as writing up reports or keep the roster.
A Wing/Regiment Commander commands six squadrons/platoons on an Imperial Star Destroyer. Wing/Regiment Commanders make sure the squadrons/platoons under their command perform efficiently and successfully. These Wings and Regiments are each commanded by an Officer to whom all the Squadron/Platoon Commanders in the Wing/Regiment are expected to report regularly. The WC/RC is answerable to the Commander of the of the capital ship on which his/her Wing/Regiment is stationed but is generally the Wing/Regiment Commander that appoints Squadron/Platoon Commanders. He/she also approves and forwards all medal awards and promotion request nominations to the Fleet Commander from the Squadron/Platoon Commanders. All WCs are expected to be very active and be in full command of the 6 subordinate CMDRs/PCDMRs.
A ship captain is one below the Ship Commander and is in charge of the wings/regiments and WCs/RCs on an ISD, which accounts for a total of 144 personnel. He/she handles the day to day operations of the ISD and makes sure that all the officers on that ship are performing at 100%. The Ship captain is not in any squadron nor the HC, he is stationed on that ship and is on the bridge at all times. The job of ship captain is very demanding to say the least.
The ship commander is the one who is overall responsible for the conduct and handling of the ship and crew under his/her command. The ship commander usually holds the rank of Commodore and above. Every Ship Commander is either part of the Emperors Advisor Council, member of the High Command or an Head Assistant to a High Command Office. The duties of that officer are such that the help the ship captain maintain the ship's webpage, and maintain their office's webpage. The ship commander reports to the Fleet Commander in charge.

dress uniforms are the day-to-day wear of rank and command officers. Rank
officer's (Commander - Major General) uniforms bear black epaulets on each
shoulder, while Command Officer's (Read Admiral and above) uniforms bear
gold epaulets.

Medals of Merit are given out for many different reasons, but all center around an officer's ability, dedication, and determination to their work and to excel in that work. The medals are categorised in order from lowest to the highest and a brief description is provided for each medal at the Development Office Medal of Merit Archive.
Battle
medals are awarded to pilots and officers upon completion of an Imperial
Order Battle. Once a pilot file for that battle is submitted to the commanding
officer, the CO verifies the completion and awards the member with a battle
medal for whichever Battle was completed.

Rank insignia signifies one's rank in the Imperial Order. The insignia is displayed on both standard and ceremonial uniforms and it is located over the left breast of an officer's uniforms. Below are the official rank insignias used by the Imperial Order Fleet.

Position cylinders are used by the Imperial Order, as they were during the days of Palpatine, to designate an officer's position in the Imperial Fleet. All officers should use the 'Standard Naval Officer' cylinders, unless you are a High Command officer, or an assistant to a HC officer; in such cases, the cylinder colour will reflect the Office to which you belong. For example, if you are an assistant to the Logistics Officer, your position cylinder would be of the colour orange. Placement of cylinders for position is described below.

The Division Insignia are handed out to every Imperial officer after his/her Training. It is to be placed right below the rank insignia.
To earn a promotion in the Imperial Order, the officer must show dedicated work to his squadron or area of activity. They must not only perform to the standards, but above the call of duty. This can include, but is not limited to: participating in gaming events, being a good gamer, creating webpages for the IO, making graphics, generating useful and new ideas, being active on the Holonet and IRC, and also proving and showing the have the competence and experience of an Imperial Officer.

Any member above the rank of Captain may recommend, to either their squadron or wing commander, another member whom they feel deserves to be recognised for one of their efforts. Recommendations usually are medal recommendations.
Upon completing an Imperial Order Battle for your squadron / platoon, (non-training squadrons only), e-mail your pilot file or a screen shot of the score to your Squadron / Platoon Commander who will review the file for your score and accuracy and then if satisfactory, the CMDR will award the respective Battle Medal to that member.
The MoU is a special "emergency" mission, posted from time to time by the Imperial Command which is mandatory for all personnel aboard the ESD Leviathan to complete (if you own the gaming platform). Imperial Credits and the Medal of Urgency is awarded to the officer who scores the highest on the mission.

The Imperial Order Payscale is a credit-chip based system. These "credit-chips" or IC's, are the way in which the Imperial Order pays its officers. Pay is based on rank. Pay is handed out in a lump sum the first of every month by the Information Office.

There are a variety of things you can do with your credits. You can use credits to wager bets on the following items: The Gaming Challenges, Bantha Races, Blob Races and any of the games in the Imperial Order Casino. You can use your credits to invest in the Imperial Order Stock Market or start up a company at the Imperial Trade Federation.
Imperial Order meetings are held on Mondays at 5:00
pm Eastern time on the IRC. The Imperial Order uses the Dynasty server system

Under no circumstances are these settings to be used while an Imperial Order mission/battle is being flown. This is considered cheating, and any IO personal caught cheating will be subject to a severe disciplinary action, such as Conduct Unbecoming of an Officer and Forgery, both Class II offences.
